The arts play a prominent role at TKS. It’s an integral part of our curriculum and co-curricular activity program, providing students with numerous opportunities for creative expression. Some of the programs we offer include:
Starring our talented student actors, featuring music from our live school band. This year’s musical invited everyone to the ball in the spectacular British Pantomime, Cinderella. This comedy showcased our amazingly talented students, cast, and crew!
Well done to everyone who participated. After weeks of rehearsals, costume fitting, set-building, and band practices, we were so proud to share this magical performance with our community!
In the 2021/22 academic year, our arts department took on one of its most ambitious projects - We Will Rock You. The cast and crew only had a few months to prepare for this two-and-a-half-hour-long Queen-inspired musical.

In October, we held our first musical showcase of the new school year, which took place in the GES circle theater in front of a full crowd.
Approximately 13 different acts performed, cheered on by an enthusiastic audience! Many from our GES community entered the musical showcase and the talents were all very diverse, with piano taking the lead for the most performances. “We are feeling pretty excited and confident!” said The Twisting Sisters. Rseel and Jena said, “We’re feeling thrilled and excited!”.

In October, students from Grades 9-12 performed in the first variety show in two years. As masters of ceremonies, Cameron Johnson (G12) and Aabish Imran (G10), led the crowd through a brilliant set of live bands, musicians, dancers, singers, and artists.
The performers sang and played music ranging from Arabic, Indian and Ukranian folk music to contemporary pop and rock and even some original music written by the students themselves!

Our students hone their stagecraft with Shrek. TKS students had the incredible opportunity to work with members of Shrek - The Musical. In these sessions, they experienced first-hand with professionals how to develop choreography impersonate multiple characters and sing as an ensemble with different vocal melodies.
