Early Years

Early Years students make sense of their ever-changing world through multimodal, playful explorations. Our library and technology spaces, programming, and resources are thoughtfully designed to foster curiosity and lay the foundation for the development of multiliteracies, empowering learners to become confident and resourceful problem solvers.

Our EY libraries span two neighboring buildings that are identical in nature, which supports our youngest learners aged 3-6. Each has a main library, multiple "little libraries,” plus a range of hands-on spaces that allow for further exploration into STEM-related literacies. We have over 20,000 books in English, Arabic, and other languages, plus a range of ebooks and online resources for school and home use.

Elemantry
Elementary Library

Elementary School has a newly renovated library, designed to better support the learning needs of PYP learners from Grades 2 to 5. The ES library fosters curiosity and creativity, while integrating technology and information literacy skills throughout the curriculum.

Whether students wish to get lost in a story or gather more information to pursue a personal interest, the ES library supports and welcomes all learners on a flexible timetable.  There are over 18,000 physical books and 1000 ebooks available, with offerings in more than 20 languages. We also offer tailor-made online collections of unit-specific resources, as well as subscriptions to three major kid-friendly databases.

Secondary
MS/HS Library

We’ve recently renovated our MS/HS library. This user-friendly multimedia resource center caters to the different learning needs and interests of our Middle and High School students and the adults who use them.
The library is divided into quiet reading nooks and collaborative spaces to provide a welcoming and inclusive learning environment. It also hosts a glass room and an outdoor patio.
Accommodating the various needs of the range of people who use this library, we provide access to a variety of resources, including books, journals, books on cloud-readers, e-books, e-magazines and online databases in several languages. We also hold over 10,000 copies of novels to support the curriculum in Arabic, English, French & Spanish.

ICT

Learners at The KAUST School purposefully integrate technology and information literacy to enhance learning experiences, empowering them to create, collaborate and connect through the responsible use of print and digital resources.

We have invested in the latest technology to enhance our teaching and learning, including tablets, iPads, Chromebooks, and interactive panels for classroom use across the curriculum. We also have a specialized computer suite available for all our students.

We also provide many in-school resources that introduce young learners to responsible digital and technical play such as iPads, microscopes, and coding toys.
