Our Story

The KAUST School (TKS) was established in 2009 to serve the thriving community of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). Over the last 15 years, we have evolved into an exceptional IB World School that unites and supports a diverse, international community and cultivates an environment that enables innovation. With our innovative approach to personalized learning, we aim to prepare every learner to thrive and contribute in a complex world.

2009

  • The KAUST Schools open

  • Secondary is girls-only and co-ed

  • IB Curriculum adopted

  • IB Accreditation and NEASC Accreditation is achieved

  • One school is created: The KAUST School

TKS Accredited by the Council of International Schools

  • TKS receives accreditation from Middle States Association

  • New Mission, Vision, Values adopted

TKS is the only school in the Kingdom delivering in-person learning

  • 36 Saudi teachers trained by TKS in Elevate training program

  • New strategic plan is launched
