Purpose of PAC:
At our School the Parent Advisory Councils (PACS) provide invaluable opportunities for communication between the School and its community. The Councils’ main purpose is to support continuous school improvement. At the monthly meetings, the Principal sets the agenda that includes items submitted from Council members.
Structure of PAC:
The PACS are division-level Councils advising the Principals. There are three Advisory Council groups, one comprised of parents of Kindergarten students, one comprised of parents of Elementary school students, and one comprised of parents of Secondary School students. There are no officers and the Councils are advisory in nature, providing a vehicle for two-way communication. Each council meets monthly starting in October. Meetings are between 60-90 minutes.
